ASC was an industry leader in the development of custom hardware and software business systems using advanced mini- and microcomputer technology. The industry-leading company was acquired in 1981 by publicly-traded Tymshare, Inc.

Richard Birnbaum has over 35 years of strategic and tactical experience in retail management, sales, operations, marketing, merchandising, and human resources. He served as Executive Vice President of Circuit City Stores and was a member of the leadership team that grew the company from fewer then 50 stores with sales under $100 million to over 600 stores and $10 billion in sales. Starting as a part-time sales associate in college, he held progressive positions of leadership including Store Manager, District Manager, Division President, and Senior VP of Marketing. Richard was also part of the CarMax start-up team. He retired from Circuit City in 2001 after 30 years with the company. |

Mr. Circo retired in 2003 from Circuit City Stores, Inc. as Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. In 1977, Mr. Circo co-founded Patapsco Designs Inc., an electronics design and manufacturing company that was acquired by Circuit City Stores in 1987. In a career that began in 1968, Mr. Circo has personally designed and developed over 140 products for data communications, transaction processing, process control and video applications. He was awarded a U.S. Patent in 1987 for his unique high performance fault-tolerant token-ring local area network used in many critical process control systems. He led the Circuit City/DIVX design team in the development of a Conditional Access system for viewing of DVD Movies. The system featured world class technology in cryptography, key management, key distribution, secure silicon, copy protection, and video watermarking. Developed Secure Cryptographic Processor Integrated Circuit, Unique DVD serialization and replication system, specialized DVD Authoring and Encryption system, and Billing and Customer Service Transaction Processing System. |
